The
following is my answer to a Quora question: “How
old does my son have to be to touch his life insurance account?”
He has to be the age of majority, which in Singapore,
is 18 years of age. This applies to
hospitalisation plans, and any life plans where he is the life insured. However, the policy owner is not obligated to
assign the policy to the son. For their
own reasons, they may choose to continue as the policy owner, particularly if
it is an investment plan.
