On the 09th July, I visited EMinent
Communicators Toastmasters Club. This was my first visit in
my capacity as Area A2 Director, Toastmasters District 80 Division A. I was also the language evaluator. This was my 6th club visit, on the
09th day of the Toastmaster year.
EMinent Communicators Toastmasters Club, based at Dell, is an
exemplary example of a corporate club. It is vibrant, it is dynamic, it is ably
lead. The members understand the need to
be effective communicators, and how it helps career growth. They are, as they name themselves, eminent
communicators.
We had three speeches. Two of
them revolved somewhat, around the theme of a childhood in places other than
Singapore by Prashanth T. K., and Debananda Patro.
Debananda Patro was especially hilarious in his recounting on how his
mother especially wanted him to be a girl, and how she argued with the doctor
on the gender of the baby. Swaminathan Rajamanickam
spoke about the dangers of artificial intelligence, and the consequences of automation
at the cost of our humanity.
Special commendation to Mithun Jugal Kishore Malani, for his
dedication and drive, and we wish him the best in his tenure as President and
Vice-President, Education. Special
thanks, also, to Thomas Chen Jun Ying for the installation pictures. The evaluators were Marshall Cooper, Thomas
Chen Jun Ying, and Penny Anne Radcliffe. There was no
voting for best speaker or best evaluator, because some were over the time
limit. I was best table topics speaker.
