In Singapore, a financial advisor may be an executor
of an estate if there is no beneficial relationship arrangement, meaning that
there is no conflict of interest. However,
this issue of conflict of interest is quite nebulous, and it would be best to
have any potential legal entanglements resolved, documented and addressed.
Most recently, I was the executor of my mother’s
estate. We hired a lawyer for the probate
process. The rest of it is legal
formality.
