On the 17th July, I was Toastmaster of the
Day, for LCS Toastmasters Club. This was
not a chapter meeting. It was their
special event, a workshop by Peggy Khoo, titled “Managing Your Boss Through
Effective Communications”. This was my
12th club visit, on the 17th day of the Toastmaster year.
Attendance was around a hundred participants, and people
were eager to understand how they could manage their bosses, difficult or
otherwise, and understand them as human beings, instead of mere
antagonists. I would recommend the next
iteration of this to anyone who is interested in managing difficult people in
the course of their work, and being self-aware. The event was engaging, enlightening and
entertaining.
