On the 06th September 2019, I was at Rohde
& Schwarz Toastmasters Club, as Project Speaker. This was my 51st club visit on the
68th day of the Toastmaster year.
The Toastmaster of the Day was Arnold Stanley. The timer was Alicia Theng. The ah counter was Mun Fei Wong. The table topics master was Anand Rangarajan.
The first speaker was Erik Araojo. Although it was his icebreaker, he spoke
about the concept of truth, and absolute truth.
He spoke about the concept of truth in relationships, and the related
concepts of integrity and credibility.
My speech was titled, “How to Get Married in Seven
Days”, and was a humorous take on the disaster that was my first marriage.
Margrette Lo Foong Quan spoke about her lifelong dream to take a
hike to the Himalayas, when she hit 50 years of age. It was a humorous account of age catching up
with our dreams, and a case where the spirit is willing, but the body is
weak. This speech was used for the AIA
Toastmasters Humorous Speech & Evaluation Contest, and so I have left out
the details.
The evaluators were Arnold Stanley, Amol Malokar, and
Lee Kah Heng.
Best Speaker: Myself;
Best Evaluator: Lee Kah Heng; and
Best Table Topics Speaker: Lee Kah Heng.
