The following is my answer to a Quora question: “Can
a corporation be the beneficiary of a living trust?”
A corporation can be a beneficiary of a trust. Any legal or natural person may be the
beneficiary of a trust. Corporate
beneficiaries are used, in some places, as part of tax planning, family wealth
management, and to separate different categories of assets. This arrangement is also useful for hiding the origin
of funds, and launder money, especially if the trust is a blind trust, or there
is an arrangement for the trust to receive its funds from another trust.
