Foreign Word of the Day: Bakku-Shan

There are words we need to borrow from other languages.  From Japanese, that word of the day is “bakku-shan” (バックシャン).  “Bakku-shan” is a composite of “bakku” (バック), meaning “back”; and “shan” (‎シャン) meaning “beautiful”.  “Shan” is actually derived from the German “schön”.  It is a sort of slang idiomatic phrase, referring to a woman who is attractive when seen from behind, but ugly when viewed from the front.
