Insurers are
moving away from full coverage of hospitalisation costs, and this was always
inevitable. The explanation given for this is the over-consumption and over-charging of healthcare
services, pushing up the cost of health insurance premiums, and contributing to
a double-digit inflation of medical costs.
5% co-pay is a solution to limit unnecessary exploratory treatments with
no solid basis. If this is not addressed,
people only end up paying more, somehow.
