The following is my answer to a Quora question: “As a Pakistani, how can I apply for political asylum in Singapore?”
Singapore has a non-alignment foreign policy. It does not accept political asylum seekers
from any country, and does not even take in refugees. Asylum seekers are a cost centre. If you have credentials, and enough wealth to
be considered an investor, you could conceivably apply for permanent residency
under various schemes, and qualify for it.
You could then give up your citizenship, and take up a Singapore
citizenship. That takes years.
