The
following is a recording of my language evaluation, at ITMA Toastmasters Club,
on the 31st October 2019.
These are my thoughts on business development and management issues. I worked for years as a consultant and in various positions in the logistics and maritime industry. We have handled projects from training and development to corporate imaging and branding.

ITMA TMC as Language Evaluator, 31st October 2019
On the 31st October
2019, I was at ITMA Toastmasters Club, as language evaluator. This was my 103rd club visit on
the 123rd day of the Toastmaster year.
The
sergeant-at-arms was Simon Oh, the Toastmaster of the Day was Lisa Wong Pui Wan, the table
topics master was Julie Ong P. S., the timer was Roy Wong, and the ah counter was Jeremy
Shing.
Edwin
Goh, in his presidential address, spoke about the Toastmaster journey, and how
it is about learning, and not merely clocking in projects.
Edwin
Goh was also the first project speaker.
His speech was about taking that leap of faith. In his presentation, he showed that 80% of
success in our career depends on our ability to communicate, not our academic
results, not our background.
Cedric
Lim gave a presentation about cyber safety.
He defined the difference between cyber security, and cyber safety, in a
very technical presentation.
Gwen
Ang argued passionately that Apple is superior to Android, from a technical perspective
due to the way they verify third party applications. Her speech went into depth on the policy contentions
of both sides of the aisle.
Jenny
Lim recounted her Toastmasters journey, and mentioned the many people who
helped her in that journey to where she is, from overcoming her fear of public speaking,
to her pursuit of rhetorical excellence.
The
evaluators were Jimmy Thang, Livio Deltin, Willie Loh Chung Wei, and Chia Choon Kiat.
Best Speaker: Jenny Lim;
Best Evaluator: Jimmy Thang; and
Best Table Topics Speaker: Guest.
