The following is my answer to a Quora question: “Why does the world bend over for China?”
The world does not bend over for China. China is the 2nd largest economy
in the world. That makes China very
influential. However, we are living in a
multipolar world, and China does not have everything her own way. China has territorial disputes with almost
every country it borders. China has a
trade dispute with the US and Europe.
China is facing pushback on its One Belt, One Road initiative in Africa and
Asia. Based on all
this, and more, precisely how does the world “bend over” for China?
