Executive Leadership Seminar Panel 3: “Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity - Staying the Course”.

Panel 3 of the Executive Leadership Seminar was “Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity - Staying the Course”.  Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives are essential to fostering a positive work culture.  They go beyond legal compliance and offer the promise of a high performing workplace culture.  Leadership is DEI should go beyond lip service to the concept of corporate image.

This panel explored the importance of DEI and how it encompasses initiatives that go beyond legal compliance.  It also explored the reality of diversity fatigue, and why it matters.  In a multicultural globalised world, is DEI something that we can work with, or is it branding?  What are the challenges of modern leadership in balancing a diverse workplace, while promoting inclusive thinking.  While this looks great on paper, the practical aspects of leading in a multicultural context requires nuance.

The panel was moderated by Ms. Maribel Colmenares, Chief Executive Officer of Ashirel Business Solutions, and Founder of Tamales Mexicanos.  The panellists were Ms. Choo Phaik Ai, Managing Director, Corporate Solutions of The School of Positive Psychology; Mr. De’Angello Harris, Partner of Think & Grow, and Founder of the Chief of Staff Society; Mr. Farhaz Farouk, Country Managing Director of Morphosis Coaching, Member of the Board of Management of SAB Campus, and Audit Director of Priyvail Accounting; Ms. Jasmin Ignatius, Former Chief Administrative Officer of Bank of New York Mellon.
