The Tragedy of Meetings

The tragedy of meetings is such:

A lot is said, and said to be done,

But after all that was said and done,

A lot was said, but nothing was done.

So, we meet at the meetings,

To mete out the meteings,

To be discreet about each discrete point,

Appoint those who would appoint.

But listening to some presentations,

One would concede the representations,

How their arguments are sound,

Alas, it be nothing but sound.

They claim the discussions they would minute,

But if you take a minute to consider the minutes,

You would find that only a minute,

Amount of what was discussed minuted.

They would distribute the notice

For the next meeting notice,

But if you notice the notice,

You would notice there was nothing worth noticing.
