On the 22nd August 2019, I was at EMinent Communicators Toastmasters Club, as project speaker, and project evaluator. This was also my Area Director visit. This was my 40th club visit on the
53rd day of the Toastmaster year.
The Toastmaster of the Day was Mithun Jugal Kishore Malani. The language evaluator was Langeline Leong. The
timer was Lily Hu. The ah counter was Sally
Chua. The table topics master was Pallavi
Sharma.
Ragavender Jayakumar gave his icebreaker. He spoke about his “game”, about how his worldview.
I spoke about the concept of mentorship, leadership,
and management development, highlighting club growth and professional
development. It was essentially a policy
speech.
Naveen Giri spoke about his volunteer work in the
Singapore Lonely Patients’ Association, which I have never heard about, so it
was very interesting. He gave a brief
history of the origins of the organisation, helping recovering veterans of
World War I, and then spoke about what they do in Singapore, visiting people in
hospital, and being their friend. This
is a noble cause, and Naveen Giri is an inspirational person. He is a stroke survivor, but he never let that
hold him back from being an example to all of us.
The evaluators were Jeevan Mahendran, Mithun Jugal Kishore Malani,
and myself.
Best Speaker: Myself;
Best Evaluator: Myself; and
Best Table Topics Speaker: Jeevan Mahendran, and Myself.
