On the 20th August 2019, I was at ACCA
Toastmasters Club, as project evaluator.
This was my 38th club visit on the 51st day of the
Toastmaster year.
The Toastmaster of the Day was Jerry Lim. The language evaluator was Gerald Yong Kim
Heong. The timer was Ricky Peh. The ah counter was Jannie Gong. The table topics master was Andrew Gunawan.
Ishita Banerjee spoke about emotional intelligence,
and how it is a requirement to be an effective manager in these times, as
oppose to authoritarian styles of leadership that were prevalent before. She went into detail, about the psychological
effects of the failure to connect, and how it impacted productivity.
Jane Yeo told a personal narrative about her
interests. Jiang Xioa Ying did another
advanced manual project, about getting to the point of things.
Leo Zhang Li gave a comprehensive report on the
effects of sugar on our health, and the prevalence of the different types of
sugar in our food, processed and organic.
It was altogether, depressing to hear that just before the break, since
all food was then eyed with suspicion.
The evaluators were Penny Anne Radcliffe, Shirley Lee, Miranda Zhang Xioa Xi, and myself.
Best Speaker: Leo Zhang Li;
Best Evaluator: Penny Anne Radcliffe; and
Best Table Topics Speaker: Guest.
