Quora Answer: Do Financial Advisors Help with Retirement Planning?

The following is my answer to a Quora question: “Do financial advisors help with retirement planning?” 

A major part of financial planning is retirement planning.  It would be terrible to outlive our income and spend our twilight years with a reduced standard of living, or worse, in penury.  Retirement planning is best done as early as possible, so that there is a longer horizon to make course corrections, and survive the cycles of the market.
