Electric Vehicle Market Share

China is the single largest electric vehicle market in the world.  In 2020, 1.3 million electric vehicles were sold in China.  This represented 41% of global electric vehicle sales, which is just behind Europe, with 42% of global electric vehicle sales.  In contrast, electric vehicle sales in the US represented only 2.4% of sales, and 0.5% of all cars sold in India.  Analysts forecast that 1.9 million electric vehicles will be sold in China in 2021, a growth of 51%, and a market share of 9% of all cars sold in China.  All this tells us that global sales for electric vehicles have a lot of room to grow in the next decade.
