On the 08th October
2019, I was at EMinent Communicators Toastmasters Club, as language evaluator. This was my 82nd club visit on the
100th day of the Toastmaster year.
The
Toastmaster of the Day was Angela Lansbury.
The timer was Jenny Lim. The ah
counter was Khoo Li Shan. The table
topics master was Sally Chua.
The president, Mithun Jugal Kishore Malani’s, opening address
highlighted the fact that children are the future of our society, and the
values we leave them shape generations to come.
Mahesh
Vibhuk spoke about the time he stole a watch, as a child, and the lesson instilled
into him by his father – we have to earn our way, and not take short cuts. He was only four years old, when it happened. It took him a moment to take that, but it
took him 25 years to earn enough to buy a luxury watch.
Steve
Pollard introduced us to quadcopters. He
is an accomplished quadcopter racer, and won awards for his photographs, taken
using quadcopters. He had a beautiful
presentation, with all the pictures taken by him.
Sally
Chua told us about the garbage enzymes she makes at home. It is made from vegetable, and fruit waste. The enzymes have a variety of uses, from
gardening to cleaning. She went into
some detail about the process, and shared with us, her extensive experience.
The
evaluators were Penny Anne Radcliffe, Mohamad Saddiqi bin Mohamad Said, and Putu Sanjaya Setiawan.
