On the 19th August 2019, I was at Nee Soon
South Toastmasters Club, as project evaluator.
This was my 35th club visit on the 50th day of the
Toastmaster year.
The Toastmaster of the Day was Chan Ah Cheng. The language evaluator was Celine Goh. The timer was Jennifer Lim. The ah counter was Rina Tay. Sim Seck The table topics master was Johann Thang Zhi Rong.
The president, Lim Jun Song, was overseas, so Chan Ah
Cheng stood in for him, and got the meeting underway.
Terra Tea gave a PowerPoint presentation about the negative
human effects on nature. She spoke specifically
about the detrimental effects of microplastics on fauna, and what we can do
about it.
Shanmugam spoke about Singapore when Lee Kuan yew was
Prime Minister, how he was uncompromising in his values and standards.
I spoke about mentoring, and the overarching concept
of formulating a club and district policy to mentor, not just new Toastmasters,
but new leaders that can step up, and contribute to society. This was a special project speech, distinct
from the Pathways. I also expressed my
gratitude to Nee Soon South Toastmasters Club for always accommodating us, and
providing AIA Toastmasters Club with speaking and project slots. We owe several of our Triple Crown achievements
to project speeches done here.
Julie Ong P. S. gave a presentation on her leadership style,
and how it evolved as she grew into her role as club president of Leng Kee
Advanced Toastmasters Club. In the end,
she concluded that she was an authoritative leader. I could have told her that.
The evaluators were Willie Loh Chung Wei, Alvin Ho, Sivanesan
K. Murugayan, and Ajit.
Best Evaluator: Ajit; and
Best Table Topics Speaker: Rina Tay Sim Seck.
There was no voting for best speaker since only two
project speakers qualified.
